Lucky

by Kerry Mills on March 7, 2010

I’d look down in the grass and spot a 4-leaf clover in a matter of seconds, and then…it was ON. The hunt. David and I would frantically rifle through all the clover until-AH HA!-another one was found. Then another. And another. It started when we were dating…teenagers, and the competition has continued through the years. If you walk into our house right now you will see a vase full of four and five leaf clovers sitting on the counter. That’s how cool we are. Don’t hate. Urban legend in the Mills family states that my mother-in-law has found a nine leaf clover and (here’s the clencher) a THIRTEEN leaf clover. Waahhhh? I know what you’re thinking, but the woman does not lie. It must run in the family.

Because a post is naked without a photo here’s an overcast day + neighbor’s unmowed yard = perfect light & color for blue eyes. ♥

kerry: They are so sweet together all cuddled up!

mom: How precious. I used to put my twins, one on top of the other, too.

kerry: I hope you took a picture! Thanks, Mom.

Indoor Lifestyle Photography | Yokota AB, Japan

by Kerry Mills on February 23, 2010

Seeing as there is a tropical beach right up everyone’s street–it’s a given that most people stationed in Okinawa want to use this lush, natural backdrop for their photographs. It’s awesome and beautiful; however, I also love indoor lifestyle photography. I relish the opportunity to photograph people in their home. It is so raw and real. True to everyday life. Cozy. Everyone is relaxed…and seriously, how often are the kids allowed to jump on mom and dad’s bed?! I went to Tokyo last month to visit my friend, Angela. It was so bitterly cold that we decided to stay inside to capture her girls being, well, girly. And they even got to ruffle up the bed sheets without getting into trouble!Blog1Blog2Blog3

Wheeee

by Kerry Mills on January 27, 2010

My two year old, Braeden, begs for “choc-wat” when I photograph him. Hey, it works. After his two millionth time in front of my lens he sees right through momma’s tricks, so I’ve succumbed to candy giving. During our morning together, Lexi needed no bribing. Just some time to warm up to me then fun, laughter and joy! I loved that her mom brought balloons and cake. Perfect, just perfect. Happy Birthday happy girl!!Lexi1Lexi2
